Kindle Paperwhite Registration

If you are an ebook lover and recently purchased a new Kindle Paperwhite then in order to access the content online, first you need to do the Kindle Paperwhite Registration. Here is the process for Kindle Paperwhite Registration:

  • First to do the Kindle Paperwhite Registration go to Home. Therein Home locate the Menu icon. You will find the option of settings here. Please select that.
  • In a newer generation device, you will see option My account, select that. In earlier generation device you will find the option Registration. Please select that.
  • There you will have two choices. In case you are already an Amazon account then you can directly sign in. there Enter your Amazon account information. If you are new please register the Amazon account so enter the relevant details as per your choice. So, Select this option and follow the on-screen instructions to set up a new Amazon account.

If you have received Kindle Paperwhite as a gift then to use it first Deregister it and then register it. Please follow instruction as mentioned below to deregister from your computer:

  • You can deregister your Kindle Paperwhite either from your Kindle device or from your computer. When you will be done with deregistration, the device will be deregistered from your Amazon account. You won’t be able to access items stored in your content library.
  • First, log in to the Amazon account and locate the option Manage Your Content and Devices. In the option Manage Your Content and Devices you will see option your devices. select that. 
  • In the devices please select your Kindle device and after that select Deregister in the Actions column. You will be asked to confirm your action. A pop will open to confirm the done action so to confirm, select Deregister again on the pop-up window.

Deregister from your device

  • First to do the Kindle Paperwhite deregistration go to Home. Therein Home locate the Menu icon. You will find the option of settings here. Please select that.
  • In a newer generation device, you will see option My account, select that. In earlier generation device you will find the option Registration. Please select that.
  • There you will find an option Deregister device ( it will work for newer generation Kindle) and for earlier generation Kindle there will be option Deregister. Please select that accordingly.
  • You will be asked to confirm your action. A pop will open to confirm the done action so to confirm, select Deregister again on the pop-up window.

Troubleshooting Kindle Paperwhite Registration

There are several reasons which could stop you from doing the Registration for your Kindle. Here we are mentioning the causes with probable troubleshooting ways:

  • First before fixing the issue of not able to do the registration please make sure that you are running the latest version of Kindle software. In case it’s obsolete then you must update it. Amazon keeps on updating its Kindle software versions.

  1. In the first step, Choose the option to register your device or software application. After following this step, you need to login to your Mazon account. enter your login information to sign into your Amazon account (i.e. email address or mobile number). An email or text will be sent using the same method you choose.
  2. Open your registered email id which is with Amazon and after opening the email, please check for the email from Amazon. Also please verify that your email client is not filtering incoming mail from Amazon to a junk or spam folder if you log in with your email. Check for a notification via email or text from Amazon containing a temporary one time password. It is time sensitive and must be used within 10 minutes of receipt.
  3. In the third step, Register your device or software application using the same email address or mobile number, along with the temporary password. You will find that Your device or software application should now be successfully registered to your Amazon account.
  4.  Sometimes a two-step verification feature of Amazon can keep you from the sign in. So you need to check for that when you doing the registration process from your Kindle Paperwhite.
  • When you are doing the login from a new device or computer you will be asked to enter a unique code to verify your identity. Two-Step Verification is a feature that adds an extra layer of security by asking you to enter a unique security code in addition to your password on computers and devices that you haven’t designated as trusted. If you have Two-Step Verification enabled on your account, you will need to enter an additional code in order to register a device.
  • When the device from which you are trying to login to your Mazon account and the device which does not display a separate page for you to enter your unique security code when you attempt to register, you will receive an error message after you submit your password, even if the account password you entered was correct.
  • In order to pass the two-step verification feature, you need to Enter your sign in information and submit. then you will receive an error message which says that your email and password combination is incorrect. Don’t panic it completely normal. All you have to do is to enter the security code. Security code which you have just received via text message. Also, you can generate the code through the authenticator app.
  • While login to your Mazon account, after entering the password, Add the security code to the end of your account password on the device or app you are attempting to register and submit again. For example, if your password is “abcdef” and the security code you receive is “12345”, then enter “abcdef12345” in the password field.You will then be signed into your Amazon account. Also please note that you would not be able to save your current device as of your trusted device if in case Alternate Sign In is required.
  • In case If you are required to register your device or application using a temporary password, then first do the registration with your temporary password and then receive your Two-Step Verification code, and then add your Two-Step Verification code to the end of the temporary password you receive.
  • In case you are unable to register your device when you are unable to find the password for your wifi then follow these steps:
  1. First verifies the sticker on the bottom of your router. In the second step verify for your installation guide or the owner’s manual for your router.
  2. And then View the wireless settings on a device that is already connected to your networks, such as a Windows PC, Mac, or mobile phone.
  3. In windows left click on Taskbar>name of network>connected>properties>connection tab>security tab>Network security Key.
  4. In Mac open the Utilities >Keychain Access>wireless network name>info>show password. You need to know the administrator password as to show your password, you will need to enter the administrator password for your device.
